Need a plumber in the Hills District for a leak, a blocked drain or a hot water system that's given up? Help Plumbing covers seven suburbs across the Hills, from Winston Hills and Baulkham Hills up to Kellyville and Rouse Hill. Our base is in Earlwood, so when you ring we give you an honest arrival time instead of a promise we can't keep. A licensed plumber finds the cause, gives you a fixed price, and starts only after you say yes.

Plumbing work across the Hills District
The Hills has no official boundary. It is usually described as the stretch between the M2 Hills Motorway and the Hawkesbury River, and between Old Windsor Road and Pennant Hills Road. Inside that area, the plumbing in your house depends far more on when your street was built than on which suburb name is on the letterbox.
Streets built from the 1960s
Suburban building in Baulkham Hills picked up pace in the 1960s, and Winston Hills was developed from the same decade, with very little vacant land left today. In Castle Hill's East Excelsior pocket, established homes sit on large parcels with mature gardens. Houses of that age are where we find narrowing water pipes, storage tanks running on borrowed time, and long sewer runs where tree roots have pushed into a joint.
Newer estates and the Metro
Much of Kellyville's newer housing was built with a big house on a small block, which means smaller backyards and less space down the sides. Rouse Hill mixes detached houses with townhouses and apartments, and the Metro North West line, opened in May 2019, has brought more units close to its stations. The pipes are modern here, so the calls are mostly about worn tapware, cisterns, hot water units and access in tight side passages. If your hot water unit or drain opening is squeezed between two walls, mention it when you book so we bring the right gear.
Purple pipes in the Rouse Hill area
Sydney Water runs a recycled water network in the Rouse Hill area, and homes connected to it have purple pipes, a separate meter and warning signs on the outdoor taps. That water is for toilets, the washing machine and the garden, and Sydney Water requires that it never be cross-connected with the drinking water supply. If your house has purple pipework, tell us when you call, so the plumber knows which line is which before touching anything.
What we fix in Hills homes
- Hot water repairs and replacements, sized for the number of people and showers in the house. More detail is on our hot water Hills District page.
- Blocked drains, stormwater pits and tree roots, found with a drain camera and cleared with a jetter.
- Dripping taps, running toilets and worn cisterns.
- Gas cooktops, heaters and gas lines, done and certified by our licensed gas fitters.
- Hidden leaks behind walls and under floors, tracked down with pressure testing, acoustic listening and moisture detection (leak detection).
- Shared plumbing in townhouse and apartment complexes, with strata invoices split by lot and common property.
Getting to you from Earlwood
The Hills is a fair drive from our base, and traffic on the day decides how long it takes. When you call, you get a realistic window, and if we can't make it today we say so up front. Planned work such as a tap replacement or a new hot water unit is easiest booked ahead, and you can line up a few small jobs for the same visit. A burst pipe, a smell of gas or sewage coming up through a floor waste is different: ring the 24/7 line straight away and we'll be honest about timing.

Plumber Hills District FAQs
Do you really come out to the Hills from Earlwood?
Yes. All seven suburbs on this page are part of our regular area. We'll tell you an honest arrival time when you call, and whether today is realistic.
Can you do a few jobs in one visit?
Yes. Give us the whole list when you book, whether that's a dripping tap, a slow drain and a hot water check, and we'll price each job before starting.
My house has purple pipes. Does that change anything?
It means you're connected to Sydney Water's recycled water network. Let us know when you book, because recycled water lines must stay completely separate from your drinking water.
Who answers the phone, and who turns up?
Thomas or James answers, and one of them usually does the job. Either way, a licensed plumber comes out.
