1. About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to all plumbing services provided by Help Plumbing Pty Ltd (ABN 76 682 841 096) ("Help Plumbing", "we", "us", "our"), trading from 17–25 William Street, Earlwood NSW 2206, under NSW Plumbing Licence 489072C.
By engaging Help Plumbing — whether by submitting a quote request, accepting a quote, or instructing us to proceed with work — you ("the Client") agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with the engagement.
2. Quotes and pricing
Quotes may be provided verbally on-site, in writing by email or SMS, or following inspection or diagnostic assessment. Unless otherwise stated, quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless otherwise specified.
Where additional or unforeseen work is required (including but not limited to hidden damage, non-compliant work, or concealed plumbing issues discovered during the job), we will pause work, explain the variation, and provide a revised quote for approval before proceeding.
3. Call-out fees
Call-out fees, where applicable, are disclosed prior to attendance.
The call-out fee is strictly for attendance, inspection, and diagnosis only. All repair work is quoted separately and must be approved prior to commencement.
After-hours attendance may incur an increased call-out fee, which will always be advised prior to attendance.
4. Acceptance of quote
You may accept a quote in writing (email or SMS) or verbally. By instructing us to proceed, you confirm that you have read and accept the quoted scope, price, and these terms.
5. Scope of services
Help Plumbing provides licensed plumbing services including, but not limited to: blocked drains, hot water systems, gas plumbing, leak detection, burst pipes, pipe relining, general plumbing maintenance, taps and toilets, emergency plumbing, commercial plumbing, and strata and body corporate work.
Any work outside the agreed scope is treated as a variation and is subject to clause 2.
6. Blocked drains
For blocked drain services, Help Plumbing will attempt to clear the blockage using appropriate methods.
Due to the nature of drainage systems, successful clearance cannot be guaranteed where underlying issues exist, such as tree roots, damaged pipework, or foreign materials. Further work may be required and will be quoted if necessary.
7. Access to the site
The Client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area.
If we are unable to access the site at the agreed time through no fault of our own, a call-out fee may apply.
8. Payment terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the work.
We accept cash, EFTPOS, credit card, and bank transfer. An invoice will be issued for every job.
For scheduled works, a deposit is required prior to commencement. The deposit amount will be specified in the quote and must be paid to secure the booking.
Deposits are non-refundable where work has been scheduled, materials have been ordered, or costs have been incurred.
Outstanding invoices not paid within 14 days may incur additional fees or be referred to debt recovery.
Failure to make payment may result in suspension of warranty and future services until the account is settled.
9. Client-supplied materials
Where materials, fixtures, or fittings are supplied by the Client, Help Plumbing is not responsible for defects, compatibility issues, delays, or failures associated with those items.
10. Existing conditions and risk
The Client acknowledges that plumbing systems are often concealed and may contain pre-existing defects or unknown conditions.
Help Plumbing is not responsible for issues arising from pre-existing defects, structural conditions, or concealed plumbing that could not reasonably be identified prior to commencing work.
Certain works, including but not limited to drilling, excavation, or accessing walls, floors, or ceilings, may carry a risk of incidental damage. We will take all reasonable care; however, we are not liable for unavoidable damage where such work is required to complete the services.
11. Workmanship guarantee
We provide a workmanship guarantee on labour in accordance with the requirements of the NSW Home Building Act 1989.
If a defect arises in our workmanship within the applicable period, we will return and rectify the issue.
This guarantee does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or third-party interference
- General wear and tear after completion
- Faults arising from Client-supplied materials
- Issues outside the scope of the original work
Manufacturer warranties apply separately and are subject to the manufacturer's terms.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
Subject to clause 12 and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Help Plumbing's liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the provision of services is limited, at our discretion, to:
- rectifying the affected work; or
- re-supplying the services; or
- the cost of having the work performed again by another licensed plumber,
and in any event will not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the services.
The Client must provide Help Plumbing with a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify any alleged defect before engaging a third party. Help Plumbing will not be liable for any costs incurred where this opportunity has not been provided.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of opportunity, property damage beyond the scope of works, or business interruption.
Help Plumbing holds $10 million public liability insurance.
14. Cancellation
If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, please provide as much notice as possible.
Cancellations made within 4 hours of the scheduled appointment time may incur a cancellation fee, particularly where a technician has already been dispatched or allocated to the booking.
15. Response times
Any stated response times (including "same-day" or "within 1 hour") are estimates only and may vary depending on workload, traffic, and emergency demand.
16. Force majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, or government restrictions.
17. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
